I loved your article. I am training a young mustang to drive and we're using a bit less open bridle. I'm meeting so much resistance in the driving community. She is safe and happy in this bridle. So good to see that picture for confirmation that I am not crazy. My goal is to trail drive, too. It would be fun to do combined driving clinics but I won't be allowed, let alone any shows. But what I want is for her to love this new game as much as she loves to carry me.

Bravo for you! I understand about the resistance in the driving community, but I know from years of experience that bitless and open is safer for driving as well as riding. It is all about the relationship you develop with your horse, the "communication", not "control". Since one of my STBs is now the star of the driving program at a therapeutic riding and driving establishment, (bitless and open, of course), I am getting a little more respect :-). His story is the article "Nothing is Impossible".If you would like to email me any time for encouragement, please feel free to do so. cgelston1@comcast.net
